ZEN.COM is introducing cash transfers across Europe, making it easier for Poles living abroad to send money to loved ones back home. Until now, doing so in cash from outside Poland was virtually impossible. Now, users simply deposit cash at a location near where they live and provide the phone number linked to the recipient’s ZEN account. The funds typically arrive in the recipient’s account in Poland within 15 minutes, and they receive a notification as soon as the money is available. The service operates through the Ria Money Transfer network.
Millions of Poles living across Europe regularly send money to loved ones back home. We want this to be as simple as handing someone cash: you deposit it at a location near your home, and within minutes your family in Poland has it in their account, ready to spend in a shop, use online or exchange into another currency. No bank visit, no international bank transfer, no waiting. This is how modern finance should work: adapting to your life, not the other way around, says Łukasz Neska, Chief Growth Officer at ZEN.COM.
Cash sent to Poland from thousands of locations across Europe
Cash transfers are available in 20 European countries, including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands and Norway, all home to large Polish communities. Cash can be deposited at thousands of partner locations and sent in euros or the local currency of the respective country.
The sender does not need a card or bank transfer. To send money, they deposit cash at a participating location, present an identity document, and provide the recipient’s first name, last name and phone number linked to their ZEN account. The recipient in Poland must have a ZEN account for the funds to be credited.
What changes in Poland
Depositing cash into an account is not new in Poland, as users already have access to thousands of cash deposit ATMs. Two things are changing: cash can now be sent as a transfer directly to another person’s account, and deposits can be made not only in Polish zloty but also in euros. This makes the service more convenient for people who hold or receive part of their money in foreign currency.
From cash to money ready to use
Once credited, the funds in a ZEN.COM account work like any other digital money. Recipients can use them to pay by card or online, exchange them into 35 currencies, withdraw cash or transfer the money further using the full ZEN.COM ecosystem.
For ZEN.COM, cash transfers are part of a broader strategy to connect payments and money management across digital and physical channels. The service opens the app to people who use cash in their everyday lives and makes modern financial services more accessible, including in places where traditional banking has a smaller presence.
