After generating millions of złoty in sales through the Instant Cashback program, ZEN.COM and Empik are expanding their cooperation to include payment infrastructure. What initially started as a sales-generation model through the ZEN.COM app now also includes a business card project and support for online settlement processes.
In 2025, users of the ZEN.COM app generated nearly PLN 15 million in sales for Empik. Until now, the partnership was based on a cashback model – ZEN.COM users receive 3% cashback on purchases made at Empik. The relationship is now entering the next stage, with Empik using ZEN.COM’s financial infrastructure for business cards used to settle selected online transactions, including operations related to its marketplace offering.
“E-commerce today needs not only traffic but also real operational and financial support. ZEN has moved beyond being just a source of sales – we are becoming an infrastructure partner that connects marketing, settlements and payment technology. This is the natural direction in which relationships with the largest merchants are evolving,” says Michał Bogusławski, CEO Europe at ZEN.COM.
A cooperation model based on two pillars – performance marketing and financial services – enables merchants not only to increase sales but also to optimize settlement processes and manage liquidity more effectively.
“Our goal is to provide the most efficient and secure shopping environment possible – both for customers and from an operational perspective. Expanding our cooperation with ZEN.COM strengthens our payment capabilities and supports the further development of our online offering,” adds Paweł Nawrocki, Director of Retail Media and Financial Services at Empik.
The expanded partnership shows how the boundary between fintech and online retail is increasingly blurring. ZEN.COM is developing a model in which it supports both sales growth and the secure, efficient settlement of transactions – creating long-term relationships with merchants based on technology and shared growth.
